How to Use Herbal Tinctures
Although there are many ways to use herbal tinctures, such as drop it straight in your mouth, mix with a beverage of choice, or stir it into foods such as yogurt. There is only one method that we recommend...
- Place drops under tongue
- Hold for 1 minute
- Swallow
If you're trying an herb for the first time, start with 1 dropper full, 1-3 times per day then slowly work your way up to recommendation on product label.
Q: Do tinctures contain alcohol?
Many do, but we only offer alcohol-free options.
Q: How long do they take to work?
Depends on the herb. Many take only 15-30 minutes to feel an effect, but others (such as St. Johns Wort) can take as long 4-6 weeks.
Q: Safe for everyday use?
While many herbs are considered safe for daily use, always consult a healthcare proffesional and do your research. Always be cautious of allergic reactions when using a new herbal product.
Q: Shelf life?
Tinctures extracted with vegetable glyceryn (such as ours) are good for up to 3 years. To ensure only the best quality product, our best by date is 2 years after the extraction date. In the case of tinctures with multiple herbs, we go by the extraction date of the oldest herbal extract in the bottle.
